- Quickly putting together rapid thoughts was facilitated by online tools and the decision process
- The idea of leveraging collaboration was used to help the project; it came up multiple times and ways throughout the conference
- In developing products for customer-centric focus, failing fast and pivoting allowed generation of a lot of ideas—transitions were important
- Humility is crucial—we can learn a lot from other people
- Digging into CI helped; liked the online tools
- You have to be willing to look at the business in a new way, the more we saw what others were doing, we have to be willing to risk the business to confront the fact other players are coming to the market. We can’t do nothing
- Core strategy was clear, but thinking outside the box is necessary. Be ready to pounce!
- You can’t be afraid to take risks or work with others to collaborate. Leveraging these two will improve the way you approach daily life
- It’s OK to ideate and be a little messy—don’t worry about the numbers! It’s important to get ideas down on paper
- Companies should put their egos aside and share resources for the greater good.

- Impressed by the fact that this is not a group of just CI professionals, and a lot of young people and students—humbling to see I am not nearly as smart as I think I am
- What would happen if we completely pivoted the conference we’ve done six times? Asks Johnson. We took bold risks that we’d line someplace productive, and we did. You should be feeling more teachable, humble, and empathetic
